Thanks for visiting my website! My name is Chelsea Jackson and I am a poet, pastor, activist and perpetual critical thinker. Born and raised in southeastern VA, I graduated from Shenandoah University with a Bachelor’s in Music Therapy, and Drew Theological School with a Master of Divinity. I have a passion for writing, teaching and speaking about issues of justice, activism and socially conscious theology. Creativity holds the ability to both comfort and challenge, and it is this powerful balance that draws me to poetry as a tool to engage theology and raise awareness for social and environmental justice. I use art, theology and activism to teach others about social justice and empower them to be activists themselves.
Past workshops and projects I have led include: a youth/parent Body Image Seminar, presentations on “Art as Activism” and an Eco-Art Show. The events, performances and speaking engagements/workshop I offer are of a wide variety and are highly customizable. If you are interested in learning more, or having me perform or speak at an event please contact me!
